Monthly Cocktail

Apricot Cocktail
2 ounces vodka
1 ounce curacao or triple sec
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
1 1/2 teaspoons apricot jam* [avoid the apricot pieces and pulp.]
Garnish: dried apricot
Put all ingredients in a shaker and cover with ice. Shake vigorously to break up the jam and emulsify the drink. Double strain (to remove any solids and ice shavings) into a chilled 5-ounce coupe glass.
An apricot is a small sweet fruit with a golden orange color. A ripe apricot can be recognized by its fairly firm skin, and it will be plump and juicy when it is at its best. The apricot has a delicate aroma and is an excellent source of Vitamins A and C. The apricot harvest usually begins in mid-May and lasts for around two months. So enjoy this seasonal cocktail and let me know what you think!
